eBay and sustainability: eBay introduces new cross-category B-Ware Center

“eBay started in 1995 as a marketplace for reselling products. Sustainability and recycling management are an integral part of our corporate DNA,” says Oliver Klinck, Managing Director of eBay Germany.

The German branch of the international marketplace is returning to its roots with the opening of the new B-Ware Center. Sustainability is at the core of eBay’s values. Responsible consumption by buying used goods means extending the life cycle of an item. The B-Ware center helps to produce less waste and saves resources for the production of new goods.

In the newly created section of the eBay website, customers will find returns, exhibitors, used and refurbished products. All items are fully functional and can be purchased with up to 50% price advantage. Buyers looking for a bargain or want to make a sustainable purchase will find electronics, kitchen appliances, home and garden accessories, and furniture at bargain prices in the B-Ware-Center.
To increase customer confidence in the new initiative, only items from commercial sellers are offered — sellers who have been given above-average ratings. Also, eBay seller protection applies, and Allianz product protection is available for many goods.

As longtime partners of eBay, eStrategy Consulting is proud to have supported this project and work with a company that invests in building a more sustainable future.
